Vintage Seiko Bell-Matic 4006A Automatic Alarm Watch – Brown Dial, Day/Date, Gold Capped Case
Up for sale is a genuine vintage Seiko Bell-Matic, a distinctive automatic wristwatch from Seiko's alarm complication line, popular through the 1970s. This is one of the more characterful vintage Seiko models, combining everyday practicality with a genuine mechanical alarm function — a real talking point among vintage watch collectors.
The Watch
The dial is a warm brown with applied baton hour markers and a day/date window at 3 o'clock (currently showing FRI 19). The inner rotating bezel carries the recognisable red-and-white alarm-set triangle, which is turned via the second crown to set your desired alarm hour. "BELL-MATIC" and "17 JEWELS" are printed beneath the Seiko signature on the dial.
The tonneau-shaped case is gold-capped over a stainless steel back, giving it a warm gold tone to the case sides and bezel while the back stays hardwearing against the skin. The caseback is signed Seiko, marked "SGP Back Steel," with serial number 371728 and Japan A designation.
Inside is the automatic calibre 4006A, 17 jewels, clearly stamped on the movement bridge.
The watch is fitted with a black leather strap.
