Vintage 1976 Seiko 5 Ladies’ Automatic — Cal. 2906-0350 — Hi-Beat 28,800 BPH
Up for sale is a beautiful, mid-70s Seiko 5 Ladies' Automatic (Ref. 2906-0350). This isn't just a standard vintage watch; it houses the sophisticated Caliber 2906 movement, a high-beat engine running at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Unlike many entry-level automatics, this movement features manual hand-winding and a quick-set day/date function.
Key Features & Condition:
Movement: Seiko 2906 Automatic (High-Beat). Movement is visible in photos and appears exceptionally clean. Winds smoothly and sets as it should.
Case: Original stainless steel case (approx. 24-26mm). Shows honest vintage wear but retains its sharp factory lines.
Dial & Hands: Pristine white/silver sunburst dial with applied gold-tone hour markers and matching handset. No signs of moisture ingress or "foxing."
Date of Production: May 1976 (Serial No. 650433).
Strap: Paired with a brand new, supple tan brown leather strap with contrast stitching. The tan leather highlights the gold accents on the dial for a timeless, elegant aesthetic.
Crystal: Original mineral glass with minimal surface marks, offering a clear view of the dial.
Collector's Note:
The 2906 series was Seiko’s answer to high-end Swiss ladies' movements of the era. To find one with a dial this clean and a movement this well-preserved is becoming increasingly rare. Perfect as a daily vintage wearer or a gift for a collector of Japanese horology.
