A superb example of 1970s technical innovation, this Omega De Ville Electronic represents the pinnacle of 'tuning fork' technology. Before the quartz revolution fully took hold, Omega utilised the f300Hz movement (licensed from Bulova's Accutron technology) to provide unparalleled accuracy and a signature 'humming' sound.
The f300Hz series is highly sought after by collectors who appreciate the transition from mechanical to electronic watchmaking. Unlike modern quartz watches, these hum at a specific frequency and the second hand glides perfectly smoothly. The De Ville movement is less bulky than the Seamaster or Constellation version.
This watch is in good condition. The dial remains in excellent vintage condition with clear, crisp printing. The Omega logo is prominent. The case back is correctly stamped with Omega Watch Co.
