DOXA Rectangular Dress Watch – Radial Dial

£180.00Price

A characterful and wearable example of 1930/40s Swiss design this DOXA mechanical watch offers individuality without the inflated pricing of more widely hyped brands.

  • A beautifully restrained and design-led mid-century offering from DOXA, dating to the late 1940s or early 1950s — a period when the brand was producing elegant, forward-thinking dress pieces long before its dive-watch fame.

This example stands out immediately for its striking radial dial layout. Instead of traditional applied markers or numerals, the dial features fine black lines radiating from the centre, creating a subtle starburst effect that feels both Art Deco and early modernist in character. Slim gilt hands and a simple printed DOXA signature complete the minimalist aesthetic.

The rectangular gold-plated 31mm case shows honest wear to the edges, consistent with age, and retains strong vintage presence on the wrist. As typical of the era, the watch is fitted with a stainless steel snap back (Fond Acier Inoxydable), reference 10308-1.

Inside beats a signed manual-wind DOXA Swiss movement, cleanly laid out and mechanically robust. These mid-century Doxa calibres were built for reliability and daily use, and remain straightforward to service today.
